Mexico City Curated Villa

Our international clients, part of the city's expatriate community, needed a home that could keep pace with a busy family of boys while serving as an elegant setting for hosting evening gatherings — a balance of luxury and functionality that felt true to its surroundings in Mexico City's exclusive Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood. Roberts & Lamb embraced the home's Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, designing around its handcarved wooden doors, exposed wood beams, extensive built-in shelving, and white stucco exterior rather than against them. The design is modern and clean, but rooted in the character of the house and the culture of the city.

Local artisans and craftsmen were central to the process, ensuring every element felt authentically Mexican rather than imported. Roberts & Lamb selected the living wood slab for the outdoor table, chose the specific sheep for the hand-loomed wool blankets, and visited the workshop to shape the welding and braiding of the Acapulco chairs. Outdoor living spaces were designed with the same care as the interiors, taking full advantage of Mexico City's temperate climate to create a home that honors both its neighborhood and the family who lives in it.
